The birth of the sewing machine
Posted on July 03 2016
It's quite hard to believe that the sewing machine was invented all the way back in 1790. The English inventor, Thomas Saint created it and it played its part in the industrial revolution. Switch to the current day and cycling with all its technology, electronics and wind tunnel testing the humble sewing machine plays a vital role in forward motion and cycling.
Think of aero suits, helmet straps, performance clothing...bicycle protection products. All these wonderful products we grow to love are created by the humble sewing machine.
We've just had the birth and arrival of our latest sewing machine, a top of the range Durkoff Adler . I'm sure Thomas would raise an eyebrow at the built in hard drive, touch screen programming and air compressor power but the extra features allow us to maintain the highest level of manufacturing quality.
