Padded Drivetrain Cover

At the heart of your bike’s drivetrain is the rear derailleur. It’s vital for performance but it’s also the weakest point on the bike. Even a tiny impact on the rear hanger or a knock to the jockey wheels can affect gear selection which can often mean a trip to the bike shop or a delay while you work on it on arrival. You may not notice the issue until into your ride. This can lead to frustration at best, a lost race at worst.

 Our Drivetrain Shield not only provides a protective barrier to the drivetrain, it also shields it from dust and foreign object contamination. (A dirty drivetrain can reduce your performance by about 10%.) Sitting slightly proud of the drivetrain, it avoids direct contact with the chain and helps reduce the chances of getting oil on your hands when you fit it. Four removable Velcro tabs ensure that you can fit the drivetrain cover to almost any bike geometry.

A: By offering a padded, protective shield around your drivetrain. 

Q: How do I use this product?

A: When you have finished riding fit the drivetrain cover by first holding it you your drivetrain and hooking the front sleeve over the chainring. With a little tension pull back towards the cassette, secure the velcro tab over the frame and slip the rear strap around the rear wheel (or the frame if the rear wheel is removed) and tension. Adjust to get a taught, horizontal fit.

If you park your bike in a hallway for example, the drivetrain cover will reduce the chances of oil being transferred to passers by. Oil on suit trousers or a party dress is not ideal!

A: A hard wearing, 600 Denier weight technical Polyester fabric with a waterproof PVC membrane. Providing the padding is a performance grade, closed cell foam inner that does not retain moisture.

A: When dry, use a nail brush or hand brush to remove dust, mud and marks. For more stubborn marks use a small amount of warm, soapy water to remove stains and then leave to air dry. This product is not designed for use in washing machines or tumble dryers.

A: This product does not require any maintenance when not in use. Ideally, leave in a dry, cool place when not in use.
